Lan <***@qdef.com> shared these words of wisdom:
Hello Lan,
dBASE can pretty well work with the table *directly*.
Why are you using TEMP-files at all?
dBASE has a good working automatic locking system.
Could it that your tables are not "network-ready" i.e. missing the
necessary _DBASELOCK-field?
If so, pls see the OLH for CONVERT.
I seriously doubt that it might make too much sense, however.
How would you handle duplicate entries and/or entries for the same
record by more than one user?
Securing data integrity seems a nightmare to me in a situation like
that. And replication is hard stuff in dBASE.

Hello Lan,
I have been using a temp file to load data on individual clients then
saving to the main database on network when data entry was complete
Why that?saving to the main database on network when data entry was complete
dBASE can pretty well work with the table *directly*.
Why are you using TEMP-files at all?
With citrix everyone is using the same temp file therefore problems
one person is entering info the next user comes in and interferes
with the data entry
Why would he interfere?one person is entering info the next user comes in and interferes
with the data entry

is it possible to create a temp file for each user
use temp.dbf
copy to user1.dbf
then open the user1.dbf alias temp
and enter data
so many users can now be loading data
