We have a 5.7 application running on a Windows 2000 Server (Terminal Server
Client).

The BDE configuration are with LOCAL SHARE=TRUE

The permissions in WINNT\TEMP is full-control for Everyone.

The system gives a message: "Permission Denied" when we call the
application.

Could someone help me?

I am having the same problem. The first user logs on fine. Subsequent
users get the "Permission Denied" error. I have spent the last hour
searching the archives and have yet to find out if VdB 5.7 can run
successfully on Windows 2000 Server.

TIA
Kathy

I just checked on this but haven't applied the solution that I am going
to recommend yet, but from what I can determine it is a "rights" issue.
Change or upgrade your users all to POWER USERS (or administrators-but
not a good idea) and the program should work. A possible second solution
is change the default permissions of the server to PERMISSIONS
COMPATIBLE WITH TERMINAL SERVER 4.0 USERS instead of Permissions
Compaatible With Windows 2000 Users.
If any of these work, please report it back here in the newsgroups.
Sincerely,
Dennis Levy

I Have given up trying to make this work

I even had microsoft for hours on this
I was using terminal server 2003
Set to backward compatible to NT apps
and nothing 2 users sometimes 3

I chaged the app to db2k and as many users could get in

I traced the 5.7 app to the first line of code so it is not the app
I beleive it has to do with long names and user profiles
ie: Document settings\user\????

but not sure
